Set in 1997 Los Angeles, where tensions linger between the Korean and Black communities after the ‘92 Riots, CYPHER tells the story of Jay, a Korean-American high school student. Following a racial incident in his father’s restaurant, Jay is pulled into LA’s underground hip hop scene where the two cultures battle it out.
